Application
Sulfadimethoxine base has an antimicrobial effect and clinical efficacy similar to SD. It is rapidly absorbed internally and excreted slowly, maintaining its effect for a long time. It has a low rate of acetylation in vivo and is unlikely to cause damage to the urinary tract. In addition to its broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, this product also has a significant anti-coccidial and anti-Toxoplasma gondii effect. Primarily used to prevent and treat coccidiosis in calves, chickens, and rabbits. It can also be used to prevent and treat chicken infectious rhinitis, avian cholera, Kashiwagi leukocytosis, and toxoplasmosis in dogs and pigs (often in combination with ethyl pyrimethamine). Additionally, it can be used to prevent and treat bacterial gill disease, erectile scales, vibrio disease, eel disease, and carp fish boils. It is sometimes used to treat nocardiosis in dogs and cats.
