Vitamin B12 application

Vitamin B12 CAS NO.68-19-9

Vitamin B12 is the only one of the B vitamins that contains a metal element and is a water-soluble vitamin. Vitamin B12 is not synthesised by animals, but by microorganisms, hence the need for timely B12 supplementation.

  • Item NO.:

    CAS NO. 68-19-9
  • Color:

    Dark red crystal or powder
  • Package:

    25KG/Drum

Description

Vitamin B12 is characterized by its deep red crystal or crystalline powder form, devoid of any odor or taste, and exhibits a strong affinity for moisture. It demonstrates slight solubility in water or ethanol, while being insoluble in chloroform or ether. It possesses heat resistance; however, it can be rendered ineffective by oxidizing or reducing agents (such as vitamin C or hydrogen peroxide), heavy metal salts, as well as strong acids and bases.

Application

vitamin B12 price

Vitamin B12 is an indispensable micro-nutrient for the growth of the organism, most of the animals do not give vitamin B12 in the plant feed, animals rely on the synthesis of microorganisms in the stomach and intestines on the one hand, on the other hand, rely on the external additives. In order to meet the vitamin needs of animals, it is necessary to supplement vitamin additives. The application of VB12 can effectively enhance the growth and development of poultry and livestock, particularly in young birds and animals, while also improving feed protein utilization. Consequently, it serves as a valuable feed additive. Additionally, treating fish eggs or fry with an aqueous solution of VB12 enhances their tolerance to waterborne toxic substances like benzene and heavy metals, thereby reducing mortality rates. Following the European "mad cow disease" incident, there has been a significant shift towards utilizing vitamins and other chemical structures for nutritional enhancement instead of relying on "meat and bone meal." This trend offers substantial opportunities for further development. Currently, the majority of globally produced VB12 is utilized within the feed industry.
