Application
Apramycin sulfate exhibits potent antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria and some Gram-positive bacteria that commonly infect livestock and poultry. It effectively prevents and controls bacterial infections that cause diarrhea, dysentery, and dysplasia in swine, cattle, chickens, and other livestock and poultry. Its efficacy is remarkable, and it has a special effect. Some bacteria, such as E. coli and Salmonella, are resistant to gentamicin and kanamycin. However, apramycin sulfate remains effective against these bacteria and there is no resistance to the drug. Apramycin sulfate is absorbed slowly when taken internally, with a retention time of approximately 3 days in the intestinal tract. This prolongs the antimicrobial time and improves the bactericidal effect.
